Nickel 200 Pipes & Tubes

99.6% Commercially Pure Nickel - Premier material for caustic handling and electronic applications.

Grade 200 Technical Overview

Nickel 200 is a 99.6% commercially pure wrought nickel. It has excellent mechanical properties and resistance to many corrosive environments. Other useful features of the alloy are its magnetic and magnetostrictive properties, high thermal and electrical conductivities, low gas content and low vapor pressure. The corrosion resistance of Nickel 200 makes it particularly useful for maintaining product purity in the handling of foods, synthetic fibers, and caustic alkalis; and also in structural applications where resistance to corrosion is a prime consideration. Steel Emporium stocks and supplies Grade 200 in all major sizes and schedules.

Key Advantages

Caustic Resistance

Frequently Asked Questions

The primary benefit is its exceptional resistance to caustic soda and other alkalis, maintaining material integrity where standard steels fail.

It is recommended for use below 315°C (600°F). Above this temperature, carbon can precipitate as graphite, causing embrittlement.

No, Nickel 200 is highly magnetic at room temperature, which is useful in certain electronic and magnetostrictive applications.

Yes, our Nickel 200 seamless pipes comply with ASTM B161 and tubes with ASTM B163 standards.

We provide Nickel 200 in Bright Annealed (BA), Polished (Mirror), and Pickled finishes depending on the application requirement.
